I've now been with HBC for a year. I've spent this time rebuilding myself after I clawed my way out of depression. It forced me to fight my insomnia, and while I still struggle some I've succesfully rejoined the daytime world. I'm fully stealth in my team at work. (Sam resigned, G & A were relocated, etc...)
Maybe you'll marry, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll have children, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll divorce at 40, maybe you'll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary. Whatever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much, or berate yourself either. Your choices are half chance. So are everybody else's.
I am figuring what to do next. I've decided Dr. Wilson is my 1st choice for an ab-flap phallo with Dr. Ralph and his radial forearm as a very distant 2nd. I have contact info, current waiting list for both, etc... Either option require similar planning I've begun. There's more to my life than transition and I must balance things. HBC is my 1st post-degree job, I want to stick around another year for my CV's sake. If head office gets relocated to Brampton than I will consider moving sooner.
Enjoy your body. Use it every way you can. Don't be afraid of it or of what other people think of it. It's the greatest instrument you'll ever own. [...] Don't expect anyone else to support you. To celebrate my 1 year, and motivated by my progress on New Year resolutions, I'll break a bad cycle tonight :) Scared shitless and absolutely thrilled!
