the 1st was purchased in '84 so my sister could watch the Calgary Olympics. The thing could only handle up to 2 digits channels. Not an issue considering we only had basic cable.
In '97 it was moved into my mother's bedroom to entertain her between cancer treatments. My father's mid-life crisis bought a (for the time) huge Sony. When I moved back to Canada in '01 I was the one in my nuclear family on the continent so the Sony was shipped over to my place. I only had cable for the 2 month free trials Rogers gave me every other year.
This afternoon I called on an amazingly strong femme to help me move the incredibly heavy thing. I donated it to the 519 and hope it can find usage in the newly constructed wing*. My living room seems a lot more spacious!
note: for those who enjoyed the original Mario marathon at my last party, Mario will now be a LOT bigger thanks to my LCD projector :p
*Anyone planning on being at the official opening tonight?
